This year's Farm Progress Show once again included a variety of new machine launches from companies including John Deere, AGCO, New Holland and Claas, all of which had a focus on increasing productivity and efficiency for farmers. One of the highlights for many attendees was New Holland's introduction of its updated methane powered concept tractor. It features a greater emphasis on design, taking cues from the automotive industry, and an updated FPT Industrial engine offering improved diesel-like performance.
New tracks and tires could be seen, as well, at almost all of the tire manufacturers booths. Alliance Tire Group highlighted its new sprayer tire, while Trelleborg featured its Variable Inflation Pressure technology. Michelin had a portion of its booth dedicated to tire innovations, one of which was the agricultural equivalent of its Vision concept tire introduced at the company's Movin' On sustainable mobility summit. The tire features a special tread design aimed at improving productivity and is influencing tread design for new products it is in the process of introducing.
